VERANTA

Terms of use

Draft version, pending legal review.

These terms govern the use of the Veranta app and website, a car rental platform in Mauritania. The legal entity operating Veranta will be named in the final version.

1. The service

Veranta shows, in one catalogue, cars offered by partner rental agencies that Veranta selects and checks. The rental contract is between you and the partner, under the rental agreement you accept when you request a booking. Veranta runs booking, messaging, payment and support.

2. Account

You can browse without an account. To book, like a car, write or pay, you need an account linked to your phone number and confirmed by an SMS code. You are responsible for the accuracy of your information (name, date of birth, documents).

3. Booking

A booking request is confirmed only after the partner accepts it and you choose how to pay (at handover, or by transfer before the rental within the stated deadline). Prices are in ouguiya (MRU); any deposit is shown separately.

4. Documents and eligibility

To rent, you must meet the minimum age and licence seniority and provide a valid ID and driving licence. Veranta checks documents before confirmation.

5. Cancellation

Cancellation is free until 24 h before the start; after that, one day of rental is charged. A cancellation by the partner costs you nothing.

6. Handover and return

The car’s condition is recorded in photos at handover and return, confirmed with your 6-digit code. Late returns may incur fees.

7. Conduct

Using messages to bypass the platform, sending unlawful content or harassment is forbidden. Veranta may suspend accounts in case of abuse.

8. Liability

Your liability during the rental is set by the rental agreement. Veranta is not liable for indirect damage arising from use of the service, to the extent permitted by law.

9. Contact
